Fino Bank plans network expansion in Chattisgarh,launches Gully Gully Fino initiative
Small businesses as well as BPCL outlets will become banking points
Raipur, 13th June 2019 : Mumbai-based Fino Payments Bank has brought convenient and simple banking to Chattisgarh. The new age bank’s phygital model turns the neighourhood small businesses into banking points.
Recently, Fino opened its first branch in Raipur at a Bharat Petroleum petrol pump (Oswal Highway Service), near Magneto Mall. The bank also has branches at Rajnandgaon, Bilaspur and Ambikapur.
In addition to these branches, Fino has 2063 banking partners or merchant points in Chattisgarh. These points are the neighbourhood small business stores such as kirana, mobile repair, beauty salon, and stationery shop etc, where customers frequent.
These next door Fino banking outlets offer services such as new bank account opening, deposit, withdrawal, money transfer, utility bill payments transactions. They also help download Fino mobile banking app BPay and assist them in doing digital transactions.
Fino services mass market customers who earn between Rs 1 lakh to Rs 6 lakh annually such as dairy farmers, vegetable vendors, small business owners, self-employed, etc.
Announcing the launch of the bank’s operations as well as expansion plan in the state, Mr. Himanshu Mishra, Senior Divisional Head (Central and West), Fino Payments Bank said, “Chattisgarh is an important geography for us as there is immense scope to improve banking service access to those who cannot afford to spend long hours at a bank. To bring simple and convenient banking closer to such people, we have created a strong network of neighbourhood shops as our banking partners or merchant points. These points with Fino micro ATM devices make banking simple.”
“We have initiated Gully Gully Fino approach to penetrate deeper into the towns and villages to enhance banking access. Through this initiative we will onboard more merchant points, including BPCL outlets, as Fino banking partners,” added Mr. Mishra.
One of the huge advantages of these points is they are open for late hours and any banks’ customers can bank at their convenience without loss of business and time, even on holidays. All one needs is Aadhaar authentication and the transaction is complete. Most importantly, for withdrawals cash is always available at these points, unlike some ATMs that run dry.
