Krishna Public School - 6,000 students from 20 schools in Raipur become eco-warriors as part of ‘KaroSambhav School Programme’
Raipur, 6th February 2020 : A felicitation ceremony was organized today at Krishna Public School, Raipur for the young eco-warriors of the city under the ‘Karo Sambhav School Programme’. Several schools were felicitated for their outstanding performance in electronic waste (e-waste) management under different categories on the successful culmination of five-month-long school programme.
The programme is aimed at building awareness on the critical issue of e-waste and inspiring students towards leading a sustainable lifestyle.
KaroSambhav, a Producer Responsibility Organisation (PRO), engages with school students and teachers in developing and implementing responsible e-waste management solutions across India.Since July 2017, KaroSambhav has engaged with over 8,05,200 students and 5,368 teachers across 2,684schools in alignment with the State Pollution Control Boards. Karo’s producer members include prominent brands like Apple, Dell, HP, Lenovo and Vivo.
Talking about the Programme, Pranshu Singhal, Founder, KaroSambhav, said, “Students are the building blocks and true change makers for any society. KaroSambhav School Programme is therefore designed to drive a long-term behavioural change among children with respect to critical environmental issues. This programme aims at taking up environmental issues like waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipments (WEEE) in a scientific manner.”
The Raipur school programme was launched on20thAugust 2019 in partnership with Juana Technologies.The programme witnessed participation from over 6000students studying in class V to X across 20schools collecting over 30 kg of e-waste.
On the culmination of the program, Krishna Public School,Kamal Vihar,Raipurwas felicitated for Maximum e-waste Collection and was awardedCertificate ofBest Toolkit Execution. Krishna Public School International, Raipur received Best Community outreach certificate. Completion Certificates were awarded toKrishna Public School,Kamal Vihar,Raipur (Platinum), Krishna Public School International, Raipur(Gold) and BSS Pranavananda Academy, Raipur(Silver).
